We will visit the south of France from Provence to Occitanie, exploring ancient ruins, amazing cuisine, vibrant nature and medieval marvels.

Day 1 - Sunday, April 30 Welcome to France
Pickup in Marseille international airport (MRS) or hotel in town. Drive to our hotel in Arles (Around 1 hr). We’ll take some time to discover the marvels of this historic town and its future. Overnight in Arles. Walk: easy
Day 2 - Monday, May 1 La Camargue
Our first walking day we head to the flat land of the delta of the Rhone river : la Camargue where white horses, black bulls and pink flamingos will be the colors of the day. Overnight in Arles. Walk: medium
Day 3- Tuesday, May 2 St Rémy to Les Baux
Today's adventure will take us from the charming upscale village of St Rémy de Provence to the hill town of Les Baux, it’s chateau and medieval streets.
On our way we’ll experience some impressive views on Mt Ventoux and the Plaine de Craux leading to the Mediterranean. Overnight in Arles. Walk : strenuous *(6miles)
Day 4- Wednesday, May 3 Market day and Pont du Gard
Wednesday is market day in Arles. This morning, you’ll be free to wander around one of the most impressive market in Provence and explore Arles as much as you want, then we’ll have the chance to discover one of the most impressive roman ruins ever. To carry the water from Uzes to Nimes the roman needed to cross the Gardon river and built this amazing aqueduct, still mind blowing 2000 years later. Overnight in Arles. Walk: easy
Day 5 - Thursday, May 4 Arles- Ambrussum Roman Road and wine tasting
On our way to Mourèze, we’ll visit an ancient staging point on the Via Domitia. The ancestor of our truck stops! We’ll also visit a winery, an orchard and taste wine and fruits according to the season. Overnight in Mourèze. Walk: easy
Day 6- Friday, May 5 Les Cevennes
Our day will be dedicated to discover the foothills of the Cevennes range. St Guilhem le Désert, le Cirque de Navacelles are amongst the marvels we’ll explore together. Overnight in Mourèze. Walk: medium
Day 7- Saturday, May 6 Vacation from the vacation
Let’s rest our feet and enjoy the countryside around our hotel. Have a very leisurely day or maybe join us for a little walk around the nearby lake of Salagou. Overnight in Mourèze. Walk: your choice
Day 8- Sunday, May 7 Medieval cities
Today we’ll hit the village of Minerve with its striking location and moving history and we’ll end up in Carcassonne for a first visit of the city and get our bearings in this magnificent medieval marvel. Overnight in Caunes-Minervois. Walk: medium
Day 9- Monday, May 8 The Cathars chateaux
Let’s step back in time and imagine what it was like to live in those incredibly remote Cathar castle ruins. Perched on their mountains they should have been able to challenge the rest of the world… or maybe not! Overnight in Caunes-Minervois. Walk: medium
Day 10- Tuesday, May 9 Canal du Midi
Time to explore the oldest man made waterway in France. By feet, car, boat we’ll slowly discover the importance of the Canal du Midi. Then we’ll get back to Carcassonne in time for our last dinner together. What about a Cassoulet?Overnight in Caunes-Minervois. Walk: easy
Day 11 - Wednesday, May 10 Au Revoir!
We bid you adieu today after breakfast. We are happy to help you in departure plans and help facilitate transport to train station/airport.
